Skimble's speaking was met with a nod, and the little kitten hopped up onto the suitcase. Strangely enough, it smelt calming and nice. His nose wiggled, and Leathik's eyes closed as he curled up by the larger cat.

Skimble smiled and placed a paw on Leathik's head. "Sweet dreams."
The train carried the two dozing cats through the countryside, taking them back the way they had come. Night had begun to fall, and the sunset bathed Skimble and Leathik in a peaceful orange glow before finishing its descent, and the luggage van darkened. The train rumbled onward through the night, hissing and chugging, before it at last began to slow, blowing its whistle shrilly.

Of course, like a kid, Leathik the kitten was up when the whistle blew. He mewled in slight desperation as he nudged the cat's tummy to wake him up. They were back! Widening his eyes, the kitten pawed more at his chest, poking and pushing him. "MEW!"

Skimble's eyes shot open. "All right, all right, I'm up," he said, and stretched his back before again turning to Leathik. "You're ready to move, huh?" he smiled. "Then let's go."

He nodded and mewled again. Leathik wanted to get back to the other jellicles, and they were in the right place to do it. The kitten hopped off the suitcase and stretched.

"Let's hope we don't run into any more obstacles," Skimble said thoughtfully. "But just in case, I think I'll carry you again. Unless you object?" he added, tilting his head at Leathik with a grin.

The kitten stretched a little more, relaxing as he sat down, and smiled. Of course, he didn't object. It would get them out of there quicker. Leathik bowed his head and waited for Skimble's grasp.

Nimbly Skimble picked up the kitten, and carefully peered out of the luggage cart. Everything seemed to be clear; the last of the humans were just getting off, and the Railway Cat tailed the last of them, making sure he was well out of range of the doors when they shut. At last he rounded a corner, seeing the rest of the Jellicles gathered together. Skimble set Leathik down, smiling. "We're here. And we're safe." He nuzzled Leathik gently before leading him back to the tribe. "You behave, now." (The End ... for now)
