Leathik mewled as he seemed entranced by the outside. His nose twitched with his tail and ears every so often. When was this going to slow down? It wasn't long until, as soon as the first sign of slowing occured, that Skimble grabbed his neck and jumped down... and kept on running. At first, the kitten protested with a wiggle before he stayed still. They had to get off here, after all.
As the kitten was carried by Skimbleshanks, he held back a sneeze from the smells. Was he finally getting used to them?

Skimble whirled around. A human was stepping out of the train doors as they opened slowly. Skimble felt Leathik move a bit; then he stopped wiggling ... and Skimble bolted.
Closer, closer, closer the doors came. The human had stepped out of the train and they were beginning to shut. Skimble ran faster. Faster. Come on! Almost there! Would they make it?

The kitten tensed a little, focusing... A frown formed as they went faster, and the doors started to close. 'We will make it! We will make it!' his thoughts ran loud and clear in his head... They -would- make it!

Skimble took a flying jump ... the doors were brushing against his chest as he hurled through them ... and the Railway Cat landed, with an almighty SMACK, on the hard pavement on the door outside. Quickly he checked Leathik (and himself) for injuries. Well. His paws were a little sore from the rough landing, but everything seemed to be fine.
Skimble glanced around the station. They were free! Now, to find the next train back to London and board it. Gently he set Leathik down, took one step forward ... and yowled in a most undignified manner.
The doors had shut on his tail.

"MEW!"
A mewl of distress ran through him as Skimble noticed the door that had shut on his tail like that. Leathik didn't know what to do. He ran around in a circle for a moment before he pawed upward at the tail. It was all that he could do, and it started to work. The upward motion did hurt, though it let it slide out bit by bit with each bat.

Gingerly, very gingerly, Skimble turned round, grasped his tail with his forepaws and Tugged. It was very painful, but with Leathik's help, he was finally able to free it. The Railway Cat almost fell over at the sudden force, but managed to balance himself and brushed his vest off in a dignified manner. "Well, that should do it," he said awkwardly, then turned to Leathik. "Come on. We need to find a train schedule."

Of course, Leathik felt proud. He puffed his chest up slightly and grinned, nodding in agreement with the older cat. Of -course- they should find a train schedule. He started to walk towards the office before he took a tumble down the stairs. His nose had been too high and he mis-stepped. Of course, he landed in a tumble. "Meeew," he protested with a wiggling of his nose.

Skimble tore down after the kitten. "Leathik! Are you all right?"

He nodded and mewled, wiggling his nose. He stayed like that for a moment before looking around, then to the office of the train station. In there?

Skimble gently helped Leathik to his feet. "You gave me a scare there..." He looked to where Leathik was pointing, and nodded. "There should be a schedule posted just outside." Together the two of them walked toward it.

Leathik was helped up, and he padded over with the older cat to inspect the schedule... Not that he could make ears or tail out of it.

Skimble sat down next to Leathik and inspected the schedule, glancing at his pocketwatch first. It was now 2:00 ... and as he scanned the wall, the Railway Cat saw a departure for London at 2:15. Trouble was, according to the numbering on the trains, it would board on the other side of the station ... would they be able to make it?

"Mewlie," he blinked, cocking his head to the side again.

"We can get back to London," Skimble explained, "if we start heading that way, right now." He gestured with his paw, down to the other end of the station, where the corridor receded into the distance and humans blocked their path with every step. "It's going to be tricky ... but you'll manage, I presume?" He smiled and petted Leathik's head gently.

Leathik let out a mewl of frustration, but the petting to his head let him calm down. Of course they could make it, if they could get going there now. The kitten looked at where Skimble pointed to, and he started to head towards it. If they needed to go there now, why weren't they going already?
