Skimble thought for a moment how best to explain Scotland to Leathik. "Well, it's -" And then he was cut off by the kitten pouncing on his tail. Skimble smiled. "Looks like someone's still feeling playful..." He twitched his tail a little, bringing it out of Leathik's grasp. "Come now. Let's focus on what we need to do."

'Okay,' he thought as he sat up, looking at Skimble. What was Scotland again? Did he miss the description?

"Right," said Skimble, trying to explain. "Scotland is ... well, it's very far. We're on an island. London is on the bottom half of the island. Scotland is on top." He looked at Leathik's endlessly curious expression. "It's very far."

..Very... far? Leathik didn't like the sounds of that. The kitten's ears dropped for a moment, but he did perk up. He'd still be with Skimble. Already, he was eying the other's tail.

Skimble noticed Leathik's eyes wandering, and the Railway Cat placed a firm paw on his own tail. "Not now," he said, but with a smile. "What we need to do is hide out somewhere until the train makes its first stop, then run for it and try to get back to our station." He eyed Leathik seriously before asking the next question, feeling an odd protectiveness for the young kitten. "Do you think you can do that?"

Leathik looked right back at Skimble, his nose twitching as if asking a sarcastic 'Whaaaaat?' However, the plan made him nod in agreeance. The kitten looked around, as if trying to see any sign of the train stopping.

"It's not going to be stopping for awhile," Skimble said, noting Leathik's expression. "At least, I don't think so." The Railway Cat looked around them again, noting a ledge next to one of the side windows. He smiled at Leathik. "Would you like to see something?"

The cat perked his ears up a little, and he looked up at the ledge. See something? Sure!

Skimble jumped onto the ledge and patted the seat next to him, as before. "Come on up. The view's amazing!" He smiled.

And as before, Leathik hopped up only halfway on the ledge before he mewled. His top half was on, but his bottom refused to co-ordinate. His tail twitched in frustration as he tried to get himself up, trying to make it without Skimble... but he soon let out a mewl for help.

"All right, come here..." Skimble reached down and gently grasped Leathik by the scruff of his neck, pulling him up onto the ledge and seating him. "Take a look," he smiled, gesturing at the rapidly passing countryside. "We have to get off eventually, so ... might as well enjoy the view." And indeed, the train showed no signs of slowing anytime soon.

And indeed, the passing of many things did look quite amazing. The vast countryside was whizzing by faster than any kitten could ever manage, and it made the trees look like green bundles of fast-running... pollices. Or was it a pollicle? He raised his right eyebrow in thought before giggling. His head whipped side-to-side while watching the trees before he grew dizzy. He whirled around in a comical circle to show this before flopping onto his own back.

Skimble laughed. Really, this kitten was making him feel more cheerful than he had felt in days. He helped Leathik up with a gentle paw. "Kind of hard to enjoy the view from there," he smiled.

The kitten let out a dizzified mewl before he was helped up with Skimble's gentle paw. Grinning, Leathik placed a paw on the cool window and drew it back, shivering. His nose twitched before he looked over to the cat. Perfect view, was what he thought as he looked to the outside. Everything was beauitiful!

Skimble and Leathik stayed upon the ledge for awhile, happy to simply sit and enjoy the sight of the passing countryside. Beneath the Railway Cat's contentment, however, there still lingered an element of concern, as the train took them farther and farther away from their friends. Finally, after what seemed like hours, it began to slow.
Not wanting a replay of Leathik's attempt to jump up on the ledge, Skimble scooped the kitten up by the scruff of his neck again and leaped down. The humans were starting to get up and move about. 'Now's our chance,' thought Skimble, and desperately hoped Leathik had the sense to stay put.
