"Wait up!" Skimble called after Leathik, and followed the kitten through the crowds. As before, the humans paid them little attention, save for one small queen who tried to give Skimble a hug that would have left him unable to breathe. Luckily, the Railway Cat smoothly dodged the human with the grace that came from years of working on the rails. All the while he kept an eye on Leathik. The two of them were nearing the train, and its whistle was blowing. That was an ominous sign - it meant that the train was about to leave, and Skimble quickly sped up, indicating to Leathik to do the same.

A sense of urgency ran through him as the train whistle shrilly announced the train's leaving. Skimble's wanting him to hurry up didn't help matters as the doors started to close a little. The kitten, after dodging around the humans and running up the steps, was already in the door. 'Come on, Skimble!'

Skimble jumped and, again barely avoiding the doors, landed inside the train. Well. That had been easy. At least they were finally going back.
Only one problem - as Skimble turned around, with a fresh thrill of horror, he saw the girl that had tried to grab him earlier, sitting on a seat next to her mother and swinging her feet idly in the air. She was singing idly to herself, and Skimble used the distraction to crouch down next to Leathik, trying to hide from the girl. "Leathik," he whispered through his teeth. "If you value your fur, your sanity and your life, you will stay next to me and follow me. And whatever you do, do not attract the attention of that young queen."

"...Mew?"
Skimble's talk couldn't have confused him more. Leathik crouched down as well... Was another big kitty there? Then, the mentioning of a 'young queen' came into mention... then he blinked in confusion. Was it so bad to attract a queen? Why not let her be caught by your attention? He was confused.

"The young human queen," Skimble clarified, seeing Leathik's look of confusion. "Trust me, you do not want to catch her attention." Skimble slowly shuffled backwards, keeping his eyes on the small girl all the time, and whispered, "Come on, Leathik. Let's find another cart."

"Mew," he whispered, nodding. He had heard horrific stories of the clothes they put on you, of the ribbons they force you to wear on your ears, and... and... of the horrid job they do combing your fur! This made Leathik shiver, and he now wanted to hurry and go to another cart.

Skimble smiled. "Good. Now. Shall we-" He was interrupted by a loud squeal, and the Railway Cat whipped his head around: The girl had spotted them. She squealed something in Human tongue and bounded forward, toward Skimble and Leathik.
"RUN!" Skimble shouted, pushing Leathik forward.

"MEOOOW!" He yeowled out in discontent, his little kitty paws carrying him as fast as he could to the back of the car, and onto the next. His eyes were wide with fear as he ran.

Skimble saw Leathik bound forward, into the next cart, and made to follow him, but was snatched up by the girl. The Railway Cat struggled uselessly against the queen's tight arms, frantically trying to escape her grasp. He had to stay near Leathik if he wanted to keep him safe, but the kitten was getting farther away all the time! But if Leathik came back, he'd risk getting trapped by the queen ... and Skimble didn't want to hurt the girl, but if things persisted, he'd have no other option but to scratch her. The Railway Cat thrashed uselessly in the human's arms, frustrated. What was there to do?

Of course, Skimble was caught... and Leathik screeched to a halt to turn around and see this. His eyes widened with fear as he started to run up the aisle, and he bumped right into the backs of her feet. A little mewl came from him as he skittered back.

"Leathik, don't -" Skimble started to shout down, but as the kitten bumped into the girl's feet, she squealed again, turning around. She had spotted Leathik; given that a kitten was much cuter to her than a full-grown cat, she unceremoniously dropped Skimble and reached for the younger cat. Skimble promptly bounded forward and put himself in-between the human and the kitten. "Let's get out of here, Leathik!" he shouted, again pushing the kitten forward.

Nimbly, the kitten hopped up and over her hands, but not before giving her the quickest of licks to the nose. Off he ran behind Skimble this time, heading to the back of the train.

Hearing the human's footsteps padding behind them, Skimble increased his speed, and almost passed Leathik; the Railway Cat rolled his eyes before again scooping up the kitten by the scruff of his neck. Almost ... there ... the next compartment door was close enough to touch ... and they were through. Skimble placed Leathik down gently, then whipped around and pulled desperately on the compartment door. "Come on, will you, come on!" he muttered to himself; the door whined as he pulled on it, and it inched forward ... the human girl was almost there ... Skimble tugged ... and with a sudden CLANG, the door shot from the opposite wall and slammed shut, barely missing the human girl's nose.
"Awww!" the young queen pouted, crossing her arms, and stayed like that for a moment before shrugging and going back to her mother.
"Like losing interest in a toy," Skimble muttered. "Are you all right, Leathik?"

Meow, that was close! The disappointed sound from the girl almost broke Leathik's heart, but he was even happier that they were alright. Nodding, the kitten stepped back from the door, then poked the cat's nose. "Mewlie," he whispered, then giggled and mewled again.

"I'll take that as a yes," Skimble smiled, and took stock of their surroundings: They were in the luggage van. The two cats padded along the aisles until Skimble spotted a suitcase marked with a "London" destination tag. The Railway Cat nimbly leaped on top of it and turned back to Leathik. "This looks like a good place to take a nap, don't you think?" Skimble grinned. "That is, if you're tired..."
