Tumble shook his head again. "No... I'll just be a hinderance, a distraction. You go on. I'll go back."

"All right," Skimble said softly, and gave his son a comforting hug, whispering into his ear. "You are loved, Tumble. Never forget that. You have a family that cares for you more than anything else in the world."
And Skimbleshanks drew back, gazed at his son wordlessly, then went to join the rest of the group.

Tumble gave Skimble a little smile that was completely emotionless before he turned and began trudging away. Though his general direction was toward the train station, he began to just wander, letting his paws take him where they willed. What was the point of going back? Quaxo was there. Tumble sat down by some dumpsters and sighed, dropping his chin onto his paws. What was the point of anything, really?

The weak behavior of his brother was killing him. What could Alonzo do? Hurt Quaxo in return? That would ease -his- pain, but in the end give his brother even more. Tumble would hate him if he laid a paw upon that damned magical cat. Wanting to follow, but knowing that he would only become irritated with his patched brothers state, Alonzo kept with the search party.

Skimble made note of Alonzo's expresion as he looked at Tumble, before heading back to the rest of the group. Skimble didn't say anything, though, instead leading them across the tracks toward the streets of suburbia, where Simeon was undoubtedly hidden. "Let's hurry. We're running out of time."
