{I have to go to bed soon, too. >.< If my dad finds me, I'm dead.}

Jemima slunk into the piano, looking around nervously. She slipped through the darkness, then collapsed on a pillow, panting. She looked between Burelle and her own mother, then looked over at her sisters. She buried her face in her paws, trying not to bring attention to herself. Maybe they wouldn't even notice...

Of course, when you didn't want to be noticed was precisely the moment when Etcetera noticed you. She had been lying on her back, kicking the air idly and wondering what Mistokitty and Tumbley had been whispering about the other day. Tumbley hadn't seemed very happy, and kept saying things like "They could see!" and Mistokitty would giggle. She thought they had a secret toy or something. Maybe a catnip mouse. Maybe they'd share that with her! She giggled and rolled over. Mistokitty loved her, and Tumbley was nice too. He could flip really really coolly, even better than Pouncival! Maybe he could teach her how to flip really really coolly. She liked flipping. She was a better flipper than a dancer.
"Jemmy!" Etcetera crawled toward Jemima on her belly, her eyes gleaming. She'd tell her sister about the catnip mouse that Tumbley and Mistokitty had. "Jemmy... why are you hiding and panting? You feel cold. Were you outside? You were outside! Without me! Argh! Everyone goes outside without me these days!"

Jemima jumped in the air a few inches. "Shh!" she whispered, covering her sister's mouth. "I wasn't outside... I... I was just having a dream of snow, so I got cold." She shook off some snow on her back, hoping no one noticed. Although, in all honesty, she wasn't very good at being subtle.

Etcetera patted Jemima's back and then licked her paw. "Yep. You dreamed of snow, so you's all wet now. Uh-huh." She pouted and crossed her arms. "That's a lie, Jemmy. Lies are bad." Of course, Etcetera herself lied all the time. Just not to her sisters. That was the worst kind of lie of all.

Jemima looked around nervously. "I'm not lying, Etcetera!" Jemima never used Etcy's full name save a few times when she just wanted to be left alone. "Honest," she promised. "I would never go outside without my mother's permission," Jemmy said loudly, just incase her mom overheard the conversation.

Etcetera stepped back, her eyes wide when she heard Jemima use her full name. "You are lying," she whispered. "And you're lying about lying! To me!" Why would Jemmy do that? What had she ever done to make Jemima lie to her? And then lie about lying!?

"I'm not lying about lying! I'm not even fibbing!" Jemima said. "I wouldn't lie to you, Etcy. You're my best friend, and my sister." That was a lie. She had a new best friend. However, he wasn't a sister. She wasn't sure if toms could be sisters.

Etcetera glared at Jemima, shaking her head. "Well, you're not mine! I'm not friends with queens who lie to their sisters! You're just as bad as Meanie-Selinie!" She spun around and stomped off, curling up next to Burelle, on the side opposite Jemima.
Burelle looked down from where she was "flying" Simeon to check on the new kitten by her side, but Etcetera wasn't talking. She just curled her paws and sulked.

Now it was Jemima's turn to be hurt. As bad as Meanie-Selinie? She wanted to tell Etcy, but she couldn't. He had said not to tell anybody! Besides, he was nice-- nicer than Meanie-Cettie!
Yeah. She could rhyme, too. What was Etcy gonna do about it?

"Jemmy's a meanie-tail," Etcetera finally grumbled, after Burelle placed Simeon on her back. "She went outside, cause she had snow on her, but she said she didn't, and then she said she wasn't lying to me, and the she said she wasn't lying about lying, and she also wasn't fibbing. And that's ANOTHER lie!" She rolled over carefully, giving Simeon a hug. "I telled her all about Zalika, and I telled her every time I went out to try and find him, but nooo, she won't tell me nothing."
"Maybe she just went to the bathroom," Burelle suggested.
Etcetera paused. Thought. "Oh."

Simeon looked at Etcy with big, blue eyes. He squeaked and batted her nose playfully, then cocked his head. Why did he get a sense she was sad? He decided to try winking, and succeeded! Sort of. He blinked, which was close.

Etcetera blinked back at Simeon, and then she let out a squeal, giving him a huge hug. "Brelle! He's got open eyes! Jemmy, Simeon has..." She stopped, frowned, and then nodded. "Jemmy, come on, looky, looky! Simeon opened his eyes!" If Jemmy just went to the bathroom, that made sense.

Jemima looked over, eager her sister wasn't mad at her. "He does!" Jemima giggled. She tickled the tiny kitten's tummy and laughed. "He's got blue eyes! Big, blue eyes Burelle!"
Simeon, surprised by the hug, squeaked. He looked quizzically at the queens. Why were they so happy? Oh! Because he was so cool! (Duh.)

"All kittens have blue eyes," Burelle said, watching as her little son brought the sisters back together, for now, at least.
"Sooo pretty," Etcetera cooed, tickling him under the chin. "You're the prettiest tom around, you are! You're almost as pretty as Tugger!"
