Merade
Merade is a white patched queen, one year out of kittenhood. She's two years old, which is an adult in Monnik terms.
Her mother is Jokaste, and her father is Surripus, although she's not sure if she is his biological daughter. She was raised by the older Monnik queens like her grandmother, Burelle. She wants to follow in her mother and aunt's--Smokkate--pawsteps.
Merade is not the most beautiful cat. She's not ugly, but she is in no way a beauty queen. She is, however, very bright. She can solve problems and has a good head on her shoulders.
Merade had a brother, Smit, but he was very sickly and died before Merade could even open her eyes. He was a white cat with blue eyes, and the older cats all assumed had he been alive, he would have been blind. Her other brother, Pablo, is a warrior in the Monnik army. Merade was never close to Pablo. In all honesty, she never liked him.
Merade had a close friend named Sibylla. She was a brown tabby kitten. The two were very close, and were both being taken care of by the older queens. Eventually, they began to take care of each other. One day, as the two kittens raced on the rooftops, Sibylla tripped and fell off of the warehouse. Merade watched with horror as she say her friend fall through the air, writhing as she fell. She could hear a loud crack as her friend his the alley, her bones snapped like twigs and blood pouring from her head. Sibylla's eyes were blank and wide and they stared up at Merade.
Merade has never been on the roof since then.
Mirabelle
Mirabelle is a three-year-old queen. She is a black and gold calico and a prostitute living on Grumbuskin's ship. She was taken onboard with her father when she was a little less than a year old.
Mirabelle is very beautiful and has piercing green eyes. She knows she is beautiful and loves to flaunt it. However, beauty is about the only thing going for her. She can't sing very well and when she dances, she looks like a dying badger.
She always loves attention, especially from Grumbuskin. She considers him her savior. He "saved" her from her "horrible" life in Southampton. She sleeps with most of the crew, but not the slaves. They are below her.
Mirabelle does not consider herself a slave, although she is. However, she can do as she pleases and explore towns when the ship docks. She eats whenever she wants and does not have to row. However, she has to sleep with Grumbuskin whenever he wants, though she has no problem with that.
Mirabelle doesn't remember much of her life in Southampton. She knows she had a mother named Lily and a father named Diavolo. She also had three siblings, two boys and a girl, and two half-siblings, both girls. She remembers her mother's human where she lived her early life. She remembers the abandoned motel her clan used as home. And she remembers the beach where she was invited aboard by Grumbuskin.
Mirabelle has a strange fascination with shapes in clouds.
Diavolo
Diavolo is a pirate slave and Mirabelle's father. When his daughter was captured by Grumbuskin's crew, he went after her, slashing down any cats in his path. He lost half of his tail in the process. Grumbuskin liked Diavolo's strength, so instead of killing him, he made him a rowing slave. Diavolo was jsut glad to be near his daughter.
However, the crew made sure Mirabelle never was around her father. Now, Mirabelle doesn't even recognize him.
Diavolo is a gray tabby. He's nine years old, and was his Southampton tribe's second-in-command. He had a mate named Lily and six children. Elizabeth and Mary from his first mate, Mamrotka, and Edward, Sparetta, Mirabelle, and Wiktor from Lily.
Not a day goes by where he wishes this was all a dream.
Diavolo hates every single cat on the ship with a burning passion. He is an extremely smart and wise cat, and knows better than to bite the paw that feeds him (even though they barely do).
