"I want my kittens, Demeter," Munkustrap said, watching the queen. "What were you thinking, taking them?"

Jemima sat cuddling a very frightened Ariadne. The little silver kitten was crying and badly shaken. Jemmy couldn't blame her.
Bombalurina had decided to follow her mate and Tugger, so she could give the Maine Coon a proper scream at. But, as she was walking, she tripped over Ariadne and twisted her back paw. Luckily, Ariadne had scrambled out of the way just in time. Jemima thought that was a pretty funny way to learn to walk.
The calico kitten looked over to where Bomba was. The red queen was in the corner, her leg bandaged and propped up. She was not doing very well. She would not allow anyone near her kittens, not even Jellylorum. Jemima couldn't remember a time she had seen Bombalurina cry, but now she was. The shaken mother would hold Leathik (on the rare times she could get ahold of him) or one of her daughters and sob quietly, stopping if someone came close.
Jemima began grooming Ariadne's head, trying to be gentle like her Mama, when suddenly she heard a hoarse voice. "Bring Ariadne, please." Jemmy looked up to see Bomba's paws outstretched, nodding.
Slowly, Jemima carried the little kitten to her mama and set her down beside the queen. Bombalurina merely nodded and began grooming the little kitten. Jemima had to admit she was a bit hurt, but she returned to her pillow without a nother word.
(EDIT: Apollinax isn't there.)
(EDIT AGAIN: Simeon isn't there, either.)

(OT: SHANNON. You have 666 POSTS. Oh-em-gee.))
From her corner, Bella sniffed, sensing something wrong in the air. Someone else had tried to put their tongue to her head, and she'd endured a few licks before scampering away to her corner as usual.
Suddenly, she felt the urge to be near to mama-cat, for the first time since birth. Wriggling across the floor, she crossed the gap between her and Bombalurina, nudging the distressed queen with her nose and making another audible sniffing sound.

Apollinax, for his part, was not a happy cat. He had turned up his nose at the food and looked like he was mewling pathetically as the yummy-cat left him, but he didn't make a sound. When he felt big sausage-things poking at him, he hissed and clawed them, stumbling around until he found a place where they weren't poking him anymore (under a chair). He curled up in the very middle, tucking his tail close to his body, and made some more of those silent mews. He didn't know where he was, or anyone with him, and he was scared and alone.
And worse, there was an itching in the back of his mind, like bad-cat coming closer.
It didn't help that the sausage-things were making sounds, loud sounds, squealing sounds. He covered his ears with his paws and mewled silently some more. Mama!

Alicia had taken to this change a bit better then her brother. Having the nice queen with her wasn't that bad, though she was starting to wonder where her momma and pappa were. But he rbrother was here so she was safe...Right? Of course she was. Also unlike her brother, the small queen had taken well to the humans, she liked being stratched under her chin and behind her ears, sure they were gaints, but they were gentle gaints. She had purred contently as the humans petted her instead of running away. The food was a little werd though, she had tried some of it, but after finding that it didn't taste like mommies milk, she left it. Now she was hungry, but that was okay, mommie would come to her soon. Where was mommie? The kitten couldn't exactly smell any sign of her mother, or father anywhere close, and that just wasn't normal. She slapped her paws around blindly looking for her brother, things weren't all that great now. She couldn't smell momma or pappa, and she smelled her brother, but she couldn't find him! So the kitten at the momment was having a small panic attack.
She was wondering blindly around she room looking for her brother at the momment, but she kept running into furniture, which hurt, and now the kiten had a very bad head ache, and was frustrated. After she ran into a chair she smelled her brother closer to her. She quickly stumbled under the chair, and started crawling around, untill she ran into something soft, and furry.
Content with finding her brother, and now calmer, and feeling more safe, she layed down next to Apollinax's warm body, resting her tiny head on his neck. Being next to her brother again she was sure everything was going to be okay, even though mamma, pappa, and her sisters and the other cats were no where to smelled.

Apollinax hissed and spun when he was attacked again, sinking his little teeth into whatever it was that had smacked into him and was now partly on top of him.
This was when he learned what blood tasted like.

Alicia let out a loud yelp and jumped up, blood slowly dripped from the wound on her neck, down her coat onto the floor. No, nothing was gonna be okay, she let out what was almost a wimper and scooted back untiil her butt hit the foot of the chair, when she hit this sudden cold object she jumped up, hitting her head on the top of the chair again. She sunk to the ground tryign to scoot bakc a bit more. Why did her brother do that? She was lay snuggling against him. Did he hate her? Why did he do that, and what was running down her coat, and why did her neck hurt?
Wile her brother was getting his first taste of blood, his sister was getting her first taste of real pain.

Apollinax licked his lips, wondering what that taste was. He was getting flashes of some primordial instinct, little wriggly creatures with long tails, pouncing on them, breaking their necks, eating them... He licked his lips again and decided he might like to try that some time. He'd have to find one of those wriggly things first. And get away from the sausages. He purred a little, though, at the thoughts of hunting that were slowly filtering into his mind. Something in him already knew how to do it. He just needed to train his body.

"I am going to kill you," she hissed at him, eyeing Tugger. Demeter arched her back, staying as close to the cat door as possible. She wasn't going to let them get by her. She wasn't going to back down. She was going to make Munkustrap's life hell from this point on.
"I'm going to raise your precious son, Apollinax, to hate, hunt, and kill you. It's already obvious that he doesn't like you anyway. I'm just. . .Pushing him along," she grinned, words dripping with blood. Demeter really was one sick kitty.

"How do you know he's mine?" Munkustrap asked, cocking his head to the side as he began to circle around Demeter, moving to her other side. "Have you seen him? He's the spitting image of Macavity..." It hurt him to say that, but Munkustrap knew it wasn't true. Apollinax was his son, and he'd do anything to keep him from falling into Deme's paws permanently.

"Oh, is that a threat?" he sneered. "Let's see you back it up, then."
He pushed closer, seething, the still-sore cut on his neck pickling at the memory. While Munkus allowed himself to be talked up, the Maine Coon kept both eyes on the black-gold queen, not content to let her out of his sight this time.
Whatever Apollinax's parentage was, it for sure wasn't Demeter.

"He may be Macavity's biological son, but really, does it matter? He's Bomba's and I'm sure you care for him just because of that. Otherwise, would you really go out of your way to rescue Macavity's son?"
Demeter sneered at Munkustrap, fur bristling as her eyes wandered over to Tugger. She lashed out, trying to grab fur, but quickly pulled back. That was a dumb mistake. They could've grabbed her. She hissed back at them, back arching even further.

"Of course I would," Munkustrap said with a cold smile, stepping closer to Demeter, unsheathing his claws. "Because if he's Macavity's son, that makes him my nephew..."
He was trying to tell the entire tribe personally about his relationship with the Monnik leader, and what better time to drop that bombshell to Demeter then when they needed to distract her. Tugger already knew. He shouldn't be surprised by the information. Demeter, though, Demeter didn't.
