Hi! I'm Wolfjet and I would like to apply for either Skimble and/or Gus. *gulps* I'm a little nervous. Okay, sample post:

“Avast, ye scurvy scum! Stand and fight, ye landlubbers!”

With a flourish, Gus the Theatre Cat twisted round and thrust the iron pole that he was currently using as a sword forward, and then promptly dropped it and clutched at his spine. “There goes the old back again,” he muttered. “Should really know better.”

“Asparagus,” said Skimbleshanks, with the patience that only he could truly manage, “please stop injuring yourself, or I will have to carry you to my den again so that Jenny can take care of you.” He rose from his chair in the old theater and climbed gracefully onto the stage, helping the older cat to straighten his back again. “Why were you reenacting Growltiger, anyway?” he asked.

“Don’t really know,” said Gus dreamily, his eyes wandering aimlessly around the theater. “Something about this place just seems to bring it out in me.”

Skimble chuckled. “Well, it will also throw your spine out if you’re not careful,” said the Railway Cat. “Now, what say we settle you down somewhere and see if we can’t get you a nice cup of Earl Grey Tea.” He began to lead the Theater cat out of the place that was his home; Gus allowed himself to be lead, but his eyes still roamed the old, worn theater. “We’ll come back later, if need be,” Skimble added, noting the older cat’s gaze.

Gus blinked and then turned around, heading out into the junkyard with Skimble. “Of course we’ll come back,” he murmured, more to himself than Skimble. “Always will come back.”

I really like your style, but Skimbleshanks is already taken by Mia. Gus is open though, and I think you did a great job.

I vote yes, but in the end, it comes down to Spider.

Your sample post can be about absolutely anything. Here's Leathik's story, if it'll help you any...

Born one blustery winter night to Burelle of the Monniks (but in Jellicle territory, watched over by Jellicle healers), Leathik was the runt of his litter, the youngest of six siblings. Always the smallest and weakest, everyone was certain he'd follow his stillborn brother into death. That was not to be the case, however. His three sisters all died, and his mother disappeared, but Leathik managed to struggle on, even after a brush with death at the train station. Now a bit over a month old, Leathik is the second-oldest of the six Jellicle kittens, with Bombalurina as his foster-mother. Unfortunately for him, his older brother, Simeon, has disappeared during the night...

(Alright, here it is... Let's see now...)

Leathik's coal-black eyes peeked out from underneath his red eyelids. A little smile formed on his face when he saw his target. The little kitten's tail twitched in anticipation while the padded feet were aimed for. Of course, it was hard to do with all the other pairs following after his targeted ones. His back arched when a clear pathway was made, and his little body flew forwards... only to be caught.

A fitful mewl came from him as the Rum Tum Tugger, his intended pounce-toy, held him with a skilled catch by the scruff of his neck. The chorus of girls around him only mewled their delight of his quick acting.

"Tugger, that was amazing!"

"Leathik didn't see it coming!"

"Did you see how fast he caught him?"

"Now, now," the Maine Coon smiled and spoke after setting the kitten down, who decided to sleek his neck fur down again, "that was nothing. Didn't I ever tell you about the time when..." Tugger's voice trailed off, and the patter of kitten paws followed after him.

Spitting out a bit of fur in frustration, the kitten could only plan his next attempt of paw-pouncing.
