Quaxo lay outside the entrance to his den, staring up at the stars. They were bright tonight, he thought. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, it was a beautiful night for contemplation.

Quaxo was thinking about magic, or what his life would have been like if he didn't have it. Sure, it was useful and he had been able to help the Jellicles before. However, that meant that they might come to depend on him to be able to help if something bad happened again. He wasn't sure he wanted that responsibility, he thought as a cool breeze ruffled his fur, making him shiver slightly.

Now I just need to figure out where we're at with plots and stuffs, and get read up on Quaxo's character.

Quaxo, Demeter, and Bombalurina were all competing for Munkustrap's heart when, much to EVERYONE'S surprise, he chose the pregnant Bombalurina (she was the only one who didn't get into jealous spats with the other rivals). Trying to make Munkus jealous and hurt, Quaxo immediately turned around and started sleeping with Tumblebrutus, his best friend ever since they were young kittens. He quickly learned that Tumble was genuinely in love with him, and had been, for a while. Quaxo, however, would get overly affectionate with Tumble only when Munkus was around, and several times he'd say or almost-say Munkus' name instead of Tumble's. Recently, Tumble decided to stop following Quaxo around like a blind idiot, and currently is having a hard time trusting anyone.

Meanwhile, Macavity and his Monnik army invaded the junkyard, and Quaxo fled (the old Quaxo quit). Due to some missteps and sheer luck on all sides, Munkustrap was able to escape with all the Jellicles, including his four newborn kittens. They are currently at the train station that Skimbleshanks inhabits, trying to lie low until they can reclaim their junkyard.

Enter Grumbuskin and his pirates. These burly slavers are pretending to be helpful and charming, and claim to be only hunting for Griddlebone. Griddlebone is with the Monniks, so they attack the junkyard to reclaim it... collecting more slaves from the defeated Monniks. Coricopat and Tantomile are the only Jellicles with them, and little do they know that Grumbuskin plans to use his magical slaves to wipe their memories of anything involving the slave-taking...
